Who Should Take These Trainings?

Anew provides 40-hour Domestic Violence Training and 20-Hour Abuser Intervention Training. These trainings are recommended for:

  • Any individual working at a domestic violence agency
  • Counselors and therapists
  • Law enforcement
  • School personnel
  • Medical personnel
  • Anew volunteers, board members, or partners
  • Anyone interested in learning more about how to help support survivors of domestic violence

This training is offered twice a year, in May and November. The training is over a span of 6.5 days from 9:00am to 4:00pm (some sessions may run until 4:30pm – please see training schedule to confirm exact times). 

The cost of this training is $275 per participant. If 3 or more individuals are registering from the same organization, they may receive a discount at $175 per person using the code GROUP175. Please contact us for the full list of discounts.

Training space is limited, and registration is on a first come, first serve basis.

This training is offered twice per year, in February and August. Participants will complete the Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence’s (ICADV) 20-hour online modules on their own time prior to attending the 20-hour in-person sessions with Anew: Building Beyond Violence and Abuse. 

This style of training requires participants to pay $250 to the ICADV, and a separate fee of $175 to Anew, for a total of $425 per participant. 

Participants MUST complete the 20-hour online modules prior to the first day of in-person training and provide a certificate of completion. Credit will not be given to individuals who do not submit a certificate for the online modules on the first day of in-person training.

The Abuser Intervention Facilitator 20-hour Training is designed for those interested in working with domestic violence offenders and for professionals in social services or related fields. Participants in this offender-centered training will learn about tactics of abuse and power and control dynamics, the fundamentals of partner abuse intervention practices and the IL Administrative Code, correlating issues that increase risk of abuse, and much more.
