What Can I Donate?

Make a monetary donation

With a financial contribution from you we can continue to help individuals and their families heal and be safe. We are committed to providing comprehensive services that lead to sustainability and keep dreams alive.

Highest Need Items

We always need gift cards for gas stations, grocery stores, fast food restaurants, discount department stores. Other items we usually could use include: non-perishable, healthy food, cleaning supplies, paper products, and diapers.

Recycle your used cell phone

Anew: Building Beyond Violence and Abuse continues to collect used cell phones, which is recycled and refurbished through a partnership with GRC Wireless. For each phone collected, Anew: Building Beyond Violence and Abuse is paid based on number and viability of the phones we collect. You can drop off your old phones at our office located at 18137 Harwood Avenue, Homewood.

Have clothes, shoes or small household items?

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept any clothing, shoes, books, toys, or other unrequested items.

We have partnered with Open Access whose mission is to educate, advocate, and provide a gateway to services that meet the needs of individuals in communities where access to vital services is limited. They accept clothing, shoes and small household items in which they turn around and distribute to our shared areas free of charge through opening “community closets”. Please call them at 708-799-9190 to find out further information about their needs and acceptance policy.

Looking to donate furniture?

We are grateful to partner with The Chicago Furniture Bank who collects donations of gently used furniture and household goods and distributes them to families and individuals transitioning into supportive housing.
